The University of Calicut is the largest University in Kerala. Established in the year 1968. It is the second university to be set up in Kerala. Calicut University is affiliated by UGC and located at Thenjipalam in Malappuram district of Kerala state in India.
Department of Botany
Established in 1963 as one of the four Departments at the Calicut centre of the University of Kerala, the Department came under the University of Calicut when it was established in 1968.
Cali Herbarium
Calicut Univarsity Herbarium stands first in terms of its holdings among the university herbaria in India. The herbarium is an internationaly recognized one with over 90000 collections of vascular plants from India.
